William E. (Gene) Gandy, JD, LP, NREMT-P
Gene Gandy has been a paramedic and EMS educator for 30 years. He became interested in EMS while a practicing lawyer and in 1981 embarked on a second career as an EMS educator, provider, author, and offshore medic. He has developed and implemented a two-year Associate Degree Paramedic Program for a community college, served as both a volunteer and paid paramedic, and practiced in both rural and urban settings and in the offshore oil industry. He has written many published articles on a wide variety of topics in EMS magazines, authored chapters in EMS texts, and has been a regular lecturer in both national and regional EMS conferences. He has testified in court as an expert witness in a number of cases involving EMS providers and lectures on medical/legal aspects of EMS. He lives in Tucson, AZ.
